Installing Windows 11 often encourages users to sign in with a Microsoft account. However, there are situations where you might prefer to set up a local account instead. This guide explains how to bypass the network connection requirement during the setup process.

Step 1: Open the Command Prompt from OOBE screen

  • Follow the installation process until you reach the "Choose your country or region" screen in the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) step.
  • At this point, press "Shift + F10" to open the Command Prompt.

Step 2: Disable the Internet Connection Requirement

  • In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter:
    OOBE\BYPASSNRO{codeBox}
  • This restarts the setup process and disables the network connection requirement for account creation.

Step 3: Release the IP Configuration

  • Once the system restarts and you return to the installation process, press "Shift + F10" again to reopen the Command Prompt.
  • Type the following command and press Enter:
    ipconfig /release{codeBox}
  • This ensures that the system remains offline during setup.

Step 4: Complete the Setup

Continue with the installation process. When prompted to create an account, you will now have the option to set up a local account without needing to sign in with a Microsoft account.
